What are Mother of Pearls?

For these pearls, nacre is collected from the inside of oysters or mussel shells.

That is, the material is the same organic substance as in real pearls.

But they don't develop inside the shell, but are shaped by hand or machine. This allows for faster production of pearls, as it takes a shell several years to layer a pearl larger than 8mm!

The pearls in this category are beautifully white and round.
